K2P’s Director of Learning leads a team of instructional design and project management professionals and works with our faculty experts and Clinical Content team to design high quality online learning courses that enable physicians to self-assess and address their specific learning needs. The Director of Learning is passionate about Adult Learning Theory/Instructional Design/Learning Assessments and Outcomes with proven experience in managing Continuing Medical Education programs and accreditation standards.

The Director of Learning is responsible for the strategy, competitive assessment, product roadmap and business plan of each of the medical specialty areas s/he leads. Expert in management through influence, this leader works across clinical content, technology and marketing to ensure all of K2P’s educational products deliver the highest value to the physicians in that medical specialty and are wholly differentiated and superior to that of the competition. The Director of Learning accepts ownership and accountability for all products in their specialty areas being delivered on time, in budget and with inimitable quality. The Director of Learning is responsible for the design and implementation of all learning outcomes reporting, analysis, and continual improvement model. The Director of Learning leads and facilitates all internal planning sessions for his/her specialty area, with support from the K2P Medical Director and Learning Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the overall educational program design for all K2P products in specified specialty (therapeutic) areas, ensuring that they align with K2P’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Oversee alignment of all educational products in your specialty areas with current and new client needs through ongoing cross-functional engagement across the organization with internal and external stakeholders, including existing and new partners
  • Serve as the main liaison across K2P for each medical specialty area he/she is leading. Lead and facilitate curriculum design and content development sessions, ensuring progress and product status, decisions, issues and risks are communicated internally and externally
  • Oversee the continued success of the educational products in your specialty areas, providing leadership to cross-departmental matrixed teams. Work with internal staff and external faculty to identify and define functional product requirements that will ensure success. Work with internal teams to make requirements actionable, ensuring continual improvement and innovation.
  • Manage a team of Learning Engineers and Associates, as well as work collaboratively in a matrixed approach with the K2P Clinical Content team
  • Lead the researching, planning, development, and implementation of new content products based on adult learning principles, contemporary instructional design, and optimal use of K2P’s educational technology, including scanning the environment for potential new opportunities for K2P.
  • Direct internal day-to-day project operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to product design specifications. Provide leadership to the learning team by fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Direct processes for internal quality assurance of project team deliverables, helping to foster a climate of CQI within K2P’s learning organization culture.
  • Work with K2P’s Executive team to achieve financial objectives for assigned specialty areas, including identifying, fostering and responding to growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher, specifically in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or Postgraduate Medical Education, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of professional experience with postgraduate education and project/program management, with demonstrated experience in delivering successful educational programs and products
  • Ability to implement adult learning principles and effective instructional design techniques in educational product development and delivery
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in project planning and work breakdown plan development, ensuring that resources are properly planned to ensure projects are high quality, on time and on budget

Director, New Product Development, Bethesda, Maryland

This role requires passion and proven expertise in core competencies across product development; strategic thinking skills, organizing skills, problem solving skills, action planning and risk management.  This role requires delegation skills, motivating others, creating motivational environments, giving and receiving feedback, collaboration, conflict resolution, communication, unification and high emotional intelligence.  As a leader this individual must be able to inspire a fast paced environment and maintain strong management through influence skills. This role bridges our learning, clinical content, marketing/sales and engineering departments, has regular interaction with key senior business leaders, as well as all team players and stakeholders across K2P and our learners, and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. This position reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with the head of product marketing who is responsible for bringing the product to market successfully.

The Director, New Product Development is responsible for developing and managing our product road map and overseeing our product portfolio.  The Director New Product Development is the single point of ownership for all strategy, visual and interaction design, research and product development and management of our entire product portfolio.  Director of New Product Development is responsible for the problem our products solve, the POD we bring to market, solicitation of business needs across all departments at K2P, user stories & use cases, development of wireframes, business requirements (agile approach with epics detailed and comprehensive enough that engineering can estimate LOE effectively), design of all products, clickable prototypes when necessary.  Director, New Product Development will develop testing plans and project manage to those plans: development of scripts, ensure unit, regression and end to end testing as well as UAT are efficient and effective. Director, New Product Development acts as product owner ensuring daily scrums are focused on priorities, tickets in Jira are organized, prioritized and managed and the product is delivered to market on time and in budget. Director, Product Development will lead continual improvement of content and technology features and functionality to create learner stickiness and loyalty, developing user stories, wireframes, writing and organizing requirements, developing project plans and working across key stakeholders to manage to the project plan on time and in budget through QA/QC and UAT. K2P seeks an experienced consultative Sales Director (National Account Executive) who will assume responsibility for developing new hospital and healthcare system and/or pharmaceutical clients. K2P is seeking a full-time Learning Associate with a passion for life-long learning and a desire to work with a team of clinical learning professionals to produce high quality, online medical education courses that enable physicians to self-assess and address their specific learning needs.

The Learning Associate is responsible for supporting the Clinical Content and Learning team in the overall delivery of K2P’s educational products, from supporting faculty relationship building through final content tagging, entry and publication. This role will ensure that all CME, faculty and contractor requirements are met and will support the content development team in building relationships with faculty and in meeting project deadlines. Working closely with K2P’s Learning Engineers, this position will also support the project management and design needs of their assigned specialties, learning how to develop budgets, timelines and achieve business goals. The Learning Associate will liaise with our expert faculty and medical writer contractors to secure their required documentation and ensure services and payments are rendered in a timely manner. The Learning Associate will also support the Learning Engineers and Clinical Content teams by working closely with the K2P Product and Technology teams to ensure the long-term success of K2P’s technology and content strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain required documentation from all faculty, staff, and contractors involved in the development of medical education activities to ensure CME and financial compliance
  • Manage the CME and MOC reporting process, with both our Academic Medical Center partner, as well as directly to accreditation organizations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment for services to external faculty, contractors, and partners; track and manage project expenses to ensure services are kept within budget

 Medical Writer, Freelance/contract, Remote

Knowledge to Practice (K2P) has an immediate need for qualified freelance medical/clinical writers with CME experience in the areas of:

  • General cardiology and its sub-specialty areas
  • Internal medicine
  • Radiology (all sub-specialty areas)

Medical Writers will support our staff and physician thought leaders to plan and develop content from conception to completion according to instructional design guidelines.

Assignment Types

  • Identify current knowledge and practice gaps in select medical specialties by:
    • Conducting literature searches and data analyses, using medical specialty board blueprints, leading textbooks, and peer review publications
    • Developing and fielding surveys
    • Conducting 1:1 interviews with thought leaders, practicing academics and community physicians
  • Develop comprehensive needs assessments for physicians in select medical specialty areas; generate a thorough gap table and analysis.
  • Craft learning objectives that utilize Bloom’s Taxonomy recommended verbs to ensure desired outcomes in identified areas of need. Build teaching and testing points for each learning objective.
  • Leverage Kirkpatrick’s expanded outcomes to strategize gaps and practice needs; sequence learning objectives and discrete tasks required to accomplish objectives.
  • Work with our Learning team to write, edit and/or organize clinical content developed by thought leaders in a way that optimizes learning experiences. Provide content development support (examples include writing and citing answer explanations for assessment questions, fine tuning assessment questions and learning objectives written by faculty, providing input into content organization based on clinical knowledge, researching and fact checking citations, and more).

Key Qualifications

  • Clinical degree or Ph.D. in a biomedical, clinical or health-related field
  • 5+ years in designing and developing needs assessments and continuing medical education (CME) activities for healthcare professionals
  • Strong and up-to-date knowledge in the medical sciences, specifically in the areas of general cardiology and its sub-specialty areas, internal medicine, and radiology (all sub-specialty areas). Expertise in more than one clinical area of need is preferred.
